EQUITY AND EMPOWERMENT FOR EVANSTON FAMILIES
Empowering Youth, Fostering Community, Shaping Futures
Kuumba Evanston is a local non-profit organization made up of a group of community members, coaches and educators whose mission is to serve families of color that have been marginalized by systemic racism.
Camp Kuumba is a free summer program designed to give children of color in Evanston equitable opportunities to discover themselves and the world around them— through their participation in sports, arts, reading, exploration, financial literacy, STEM, and community service projects. The goal of Camp Kuumba is to engage, encourage, and empower our youth to reach their fullest potential.

Registration is Now Open for Camp Kuumba 2025!
We provide resources and opportunities that guide 3rd–8th grade black and brown children through mentorship programs, academic supports, discovery opportunities and positive real world experiences.
